Pawel Abbott signed a two-year deal for the Latics on the 26th June 2009.
Having spend last season playing for Darlington under current Latics boss Dave Penney, where Abbott scored 17 goals in 32 starts. Abbott started his career playing in Poland for LKS Lodz, before moving to Preston North End between 2001-2004.
For the 2004/05 campaign Abbott signed for Huddersfield Town where he played until 2007, making 105 appearances and scoring on 44 occasion for the Terriers. Abbott also had a brief spell at Swansea before signing for Darlington.
Abbott has played once for the Polish Under-21 side and managed to score on that occasion.
